The Rental Pay collects certain information from users’ browsers using small data files called “cookies.” The Rental Pay uses session ID cookies to confirm that users are logged in. This type of cookie helps The Rental Pay recognize a user if he or she visits multiple pages on our site during the same session, so that we do not need to require a password to access each page. These cookies terminate once the user closes the browser. By default, we use a persistent cookie that stores your login ID (but not your password) to make it easier for you to login when you come back to The Rental Pay. We encode our cookies so that only we can interpret the information stored in them. You can remove or block this cookie using the settings in your browser, but this may limit your ability to use our website.
We use “cookies” to collect information about your website-use while you are logged in.
As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.
We use this information to analyze trends, administer the site, track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information.
We link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information.
We automatically collect and store information about how you use this site. This helps us improve our service and detect fraud.
Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
We employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personally identifiable information.
We use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. If you would like to opt-out of these emails, please click on the unsubscribe link in the email.
The Rental Pay also stores information about your activity on the site, such as transaction history. We may link this information to personally identifiable information for monitoring or analysis.
The Rental Pay may collect additional information in other ways not specifically described here. For example, we may collect information related to interactions with customer service or responses from surveys or other feedback tools.
